Estée Lauder Companies: Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

October is recognized globally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the pink ribbon stands as a symbol of the fight against this disease. Each year, Estée Lauder Companies illuminates landmark buildings in pink across the world to raise awareness about the importance of early breast cancer detection. In past years, iconic sites such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Milan Cathedral, the Empire State Building in New York, the Sydney Opera House, and the Nanpu Bridge in Shanghai have turned pink. This year, Kazakhstan joined the campaign for the first time, with the tallest building in the southern capital, the Hotel Kazakhstan, illuminated in pink.

The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign unites and inspires people worldwide to fulfill the mission of a breast cancer-free world for all. In 1992, Evelyn Lauder established this campaign and co-created its symbolic pink ribbon, famously saying, “This is something that cannot be overcome by one person. It requires a group effort.” Over the years, this collective dedication has proven vital, showing that only widespread involvement can bring about change.
